Hey everyone! I’ve been doing a lot of work on this painting for the past two weeks, and now it’s FINALLY done! Huzza! I’m so stoked to figure this medium out more. I love photoshop so much, but it’s time to step out of my comfort zone and teach myself the classic techniques. Just like I decided two years ago to depart from my manga-oriented style in order to figure out digital painting so I might return to my roots with stronger technique, this summer again I feel I need to expand my knowledge and skillset so I eventually can use all that to produce the billions of things I hope I still get to show you! I have so many ideas for books and prints and stories… but they require some time to mature in my head. I’m starting them one by one as I go along trying out acrylics.

Next up on my list is two small projects – a painting-study of Van Gogh’s technique (I’m working as an assistant in the Van Gogh Museum this summer!) and a LANDSCAPE! Jup, in which I’ll try to frolick around with perspective and lightfall and buildings. Wish me luck haha!
